MemberStack has this feature on their radar and queued up to implement ๐Ÿ˜ but in the meantime...

I wanted to share how I solve this with a screencast walking through my setup:

I understand one long 33 minute video can be a bit daunting to stream your way through ๐Ÿ˜ฑย

So I've broken this up into short, bite sized chunks on my blog post along with more resources and help than I could squeeze into a video ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Find it here:

As always, I'm available for questions and help!

But in the meantime...I wanted to share how I solve this problem with a screencast walking through my setup.

I'm using Webflow & MemberStack for this, and combining Integromat (free account) with Amazon Web Services (free account) to allow your logged in members to download files ๐Ÿ‘

For this walk through I'm going to verify, directly with MemberStack, that every time someone clicks to download a file, they are a logged in member on your site ๐Ÿคฏ

If they bypass your โ€œhiddenโ€ content and try to download your files, they canโ€™t ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Check it out:

I've broken it all up into smaller bit sized chunks to make it easier - along with adding more resources than I could fit into this video.

Howdy, ๐Ÿ‘‹ my name is Chris Drit and I've been wandering down this path of Webflow, Memberstack, Zapier, Integromat, and Airtable for some time now.

I thought I'd do this in public by sharing everything I learn on my site with video screencasts, articles, how-to's, and just make myself generally available to help with whatever I've learned along the way ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Check out the site and all its resources, shoot me an email with questions, or just ping me here ๐Ÿค“

To anyone looking for a great person who has great information, you have found it!ย  ChrisDrit ย is amazing and I recommend his articles/videos all the time.
๐Ÿ™ thank you for your kind, yet not totally deserved, words and encouraging me to post this here.ย  Josh Lopez you are definitely an awesome person!
Let's add some muscle ๐Ÿ’ช to your site by using the Front End API ๐Ÿš€

Nice! I'll have to start using that too ๐Ÿ™‚
So there is a "Tools & Resources" space, but I'm ALWAYS stumbling into tips, ticks & hacks that help me along the way but I have no dedicated space to share them here.ย

Can we get a space that I can post this kind of stuff?

Cheers! ๐Ÿป
A public roadmap would be wonderful.ย

Something as simple as a list in this community or even better... a public Trello board that tells us what features you all are currently working, and what's scheduled to come next.

Hi Duncan,

Here are my answers to your two questions. As Molly Floyd and Naitik Mehta can attest, this has been a pain point for me over the last 45 days.

Would this do what you're thinking?
Agree with Chris here. Something, anything is better nothing. So, I would encourage MVP approach here and focus on shipping something minimal and iterating from there. I'd happy to provide detailed feedback on each update. I understand if you can't commit to anything - I'm just looking for some visibility into strategic direction / feature priorities. I feel blind on this.

What would a Public Roadmap do for you?
I really don't care if it's public or not. (I.e. If you just let me see it, that would be fine. I'd even pay for it... in the form of a premium subscription).

Why would I pay for it? I think this is what you are really asking.

Memberstack's roadmap affects my roadmap.ย

Because Memberstack's current functionality is limited, my roadmap includes workarounds. (I.e. hacks to get more out of Memberstack so I can enable important features for my own users as well as internal automations for my team). This creates all kinds of questions for me. Should I build or should I wait? How should I build? What should I build?

With your clarified direction, I'm almost certain many of my work-arounds will be addressed by future Memberstack features down the road. I just don't have the ability to make an educated guess on when.

I need to see your roadmap so I can make educated decisions on my own roadmap in the following areas:
  • how to solve work-arounds
  • when and whether to prioritize Memberstack work-arounds
  • how to prioritize features that rely on work-arounds
  • how to allocate my own development resources (my time + employees + contractors)

Here's an example of something that would be really annoying: Let's say I spend 160 development hours creating a work-around for Memberstack's currently limited Airtable data integration using the JSON text field on the Member record. Then, the month after I release that workaround, you create a native integration with Airtable that addresses my use case.ย

I second Rick's comment. To basically paraphrase everything he said, there are significant things I can't currently do with my product with current MS limitations (heya multiple memberships!). I need to know whether it's worth investing time/money into finding a workaround (and a dev to do it).

Also if I know things are coming up that are relevant to my needs, I can build it into my own roadmap for the next 6 - 12 months and start tweaking things now so that they'll work with the future updates.ย

Chris. I feel like you are the godfather of the Webflow/Memberstack/Zapier/Airtable stack. Thanks for all those videos you put together earlier this year.
